How much water do you drink a day and is it enough for you? Well… drinking water is one of the easiest ways to boost your health. Water helps your digestive system function properly and flush toxins from the body. You should aim to drink around 8 glass of water a day (1.5 litres). If you are feeling thirsty it means that you are already dehydrated. I carry a bottle of water (1 litre) around with me at all times. It’s a constant reminder and I can monitor how much I have had. If you don't like the taste of water try adding some lemon and orange slices. Tea and coffee may seem like an easy way to increase your intake of fluids, but please note that they are diuretics and they will have the opposite effect. Another benefit which I know you are going to love is weight loss. We have all been in a position where we have mistaken hunger for thirst. If you start feeling hunger pangs mid-morning or afternoon have a drink, rather than reaching straight for the snacks and as a result consume unnecessary calories. Also try to drink a glass of water 30 minutes prior breakfast, lunch and dinner. It helps to fill you up and it acts as a natural appetite suppressant.
